1. What needs to be ready before I can complete the vAudit Desk setup?

You need an vAudit cloud account, the vAudit Desk application installed on the packing-station computer, access to the authentication code from the cloud platform, and a web camera.

The setup is not complete just because the application has been installed. The application must also be connected to the cloud account and the camera must be configured before you test a packing recording.

2. Why is the authentication code required during setup?

The authentication code connects the vAudit Desk application to your cloud account.

This connection is important because the packing videos recorded on the desktop application need to be associated with the account where they will later be searched and retrieved. The code is copied from the cloud platform and entered into vAudit Desk during setup.

3. What should I check when setting up the web camera for the first time?

After connecting the web camera to the desktop or laptop, select the correct camera and resolution from the vAudit Desk settings.

Check the camera preview and make sure the packing area is clearly visible. The camera should capture the area where the operator handles and packs the order so that the packing activity can be recorded clearly.

4. How can I verify that vAudit Desk was installed and connected correctly?

The best way to verify the setup is to complete one test recording from start to finish.

Scan a sample order ID, record a short packing session, stop the recording, and then search for the same order ID in the cloud platform. Open the corresponding event and confirm that the video is available.

If the recording can be retrieved using the order ID, the application and cloud connection are working as expected.

5. Do I need to stop the video before capturing an item image?

Timestamped images can be captured while the packing video is actively recording. You can use the Capture button or scan the item barcode to capture images without ending the ongoing packing session.

6. Where can I get help while setting up vAudit Desk?

You can use both the installation video and an installation manual. These resources can be used alongside the on-page setup guide while installing and configuring the application. Additionally, our account executive can also schedule a call with you and help with the installation.

Under the vAudit basic pricing plan, your subscription is billed per station per month. Enterprise pricing plan is custom and depends on hardware, workflow, integration, retention, and support scope.

Basic runs on the laptop and webcam you already have at the packing station. There’s no dedicated device to purchase — vAudit’s software captures and links video to each order through your existing setup.

8. What does unlimited recording mean?

There’s no cap on the number of recordings a packing station can capture. You’re billed per station per month, not per video or per order.
